[Audi A3/S3] Sunroof opening

Every now again my sunroof seems to open itself up. Its seems to be doing it when its warm, is this just sheer coincidence or is it supposed to do this when its warm?

Strange you should say that, my mum's A4 does it from time to time, I find it rather funny because it also opens the windows but does it at random times.

There was a known fault on early facelift A3s where the windows would drop randomly. My old car did it a few times. Not heard of it happening with the sunroof though

My windows did it and there were a few posts on here about it. Think TTs did it as well.

this is soooo true, i've just searched to find some answers as my car is now totally soaked thanks to my sunroof doing its usual!!

Every website that promises to tell you the 15 common faults with an a3 tells you one and then makes you sign up!

So did anyone ever find an answer? .......:mad:

If you hold the lock or unlock button on your remote, do the windows go up or down? And does that operate the sunroof too?

If it does then it should be possible to change the car's coding to stop that from happening. My A4 used to do similar things with the windows although I didn't have a sunroof. I coded it to allow the windows to roll up with the remote but not down and it sorted the problem out. Might not be relevant for the A3 but I'm just chucking ideas in
