Guest slittley
Anyone else with rattles from their dashboard? I thought this wouldn't happen with a brand new car but mine is only 2 months old and it's already suffering from rattles. Admittedly, it's not that loud but it's enough to annoy me. I can momentarily stop it by applying pressure to the top of the dash (either that or else by turning up the stereo)! Will the dealer be happy to put this right even if it means dismantling the dashboard? Cheers, Steve
Xedos
We found that the only rattles on ours were from anything we added to the inside of the car e.g cd's That said the gearbox did break as did the suspension top mount in only 1 month of driving. v8griff
There's nothing more annoying. I had a rattle from my 2004 TDI Sport from the steering column which the dealer never managed to solve. It wasn't loud or intrusive, but I found myself listening for it
lottiefox
Yes, my new TT had a shocking rattle in the dash - could solve it by pushing it in or pulling it out slightly - dealer sorted it under warranty. They don't like locating rattles and if you can solve them yourself with silicone spray or a handy bit of hidden padding then thats usually best, but in the dash they'll need to get at it and sort it. Always the risk it comes back with a different rattle though!
tinka
if the dealer has to dismantle the dash for a rattle, the original rattle will go,but you will end up with others you did'nt have before, due to the dash being dismantled, try and cure it yourself before taking it in?.
