Milo
How do you stop a clay bar from turning to sticky mush? I have wrapped them in cling film, kept them out of the light etc but nothing seems to work. The only thing I haven't done is tried keeping it in the fridge/freezer. Any tips? NeilB
Mines left in a sealable sandwich bag in the shed, seems to keep it pretty fresh inbetween the 6 months of not using it.
NewNiceMrMe
To be honest, I find myself only using a clay bar once and then binning it. I keep the Quik Detailer spray for top up waxes between main ones though. I just find that the amount of grit, crap and general muck on a bar after use has me thinking 'Urgh, I'm not going to drag that over the paintwork again!'. Paul
Cut into 4 pieces, and wrapped in cling film. Only used one piece so far and wrapped it again. Then placed back it its pot, and kept indoors. having not used it since the end of last summer its still pliable and ready to use.
techieboy
[ QUOTE ] [/ QUOTE ] I'm not sure whether that looks more like Semtex or some kind of Afghan/South American herbal product. Better hope the Anti-Terrorist sqaud or the Drug squad aren't monitoring this forum.
Paul
I was wondering when that would be brought up.
silentandy
Can you clean clay bars? Last time I used mine I put it under hot water and moulded it around for a few mins to get rid of anything in it. It came out looking like new. Is this a good thing to do? petsy
Andy, did you clay your new gti?
Paul
If it looks clean , it should be safe to use. Normally you would turn it over and over and knead it until you get a fresh patch, so i can see no harm in that.
silentandy
Petsy no not yet, I did the previous one though and the difference even on a 2 month old car was amazing! So I'll be doing this one too once the weather permits.
