Xedos
Hi, I had a 2 month old new A3 TFSI quattro and it had a gearbox problem (whine) that I took to a dealer, and they replaced the gearbox. Before the replacement I was getting 32-37mpg. Since getting the car back yesterday my mpg has been 22 on the first trip and 27.8 on the second trip 50 mile trips. Is it the case that the new box is tight and needs 1000 miles or so to loosen up like when running in? Car also feels slower. Thanks James
AvantSE
I take it the gear ratios are identical to those fitted in the original box?
Xedos
[ QUOTE ] I take it the gear ratios are identical to those fitted in the original box? [/ QUOTE ] I believe so? They had the car for 48 hours, Audi germany said replace the box and it took a week or so to order. AFAIA the quattro box is closer ratio than the FWD box to make up for the extra weight.
