Just a little survey as I'm curious to which oils you guys are using in your pride and joys.

I'm interested in your:

1)Model of car.

2)Service plan - (fixed or variable).

3)Oil manufacturer and product name.

4)Viscosity/Weight of Oil & Spec (e.g 504.00)

Having my next AVS soon and was interested in the enthusiasts choice! 169144-ok.gif

No product names as Castrol keep pulling new ones out the hat. I stick to the specifications above.

Very true, it's sooooo frustrating!!! smashfreakB.gif

Actually Paul, could I ask which Castrol Oil you would use now as they have changed the spec recently?

They now have:

1) EDGE 0-30W, 503.01, Apparently they state this is for vehicles on fixed service intervals.

2) EDGE 5-30W, 504.00, Specifically for Audi/VW vehicles on longlife services.

According to them, there is no 0-30W longlife oil??? UHOH7.GIF

Is it fine to use 5-30W or what would you recommend?

Im still using VW503.01 so it will be the first one.

The spec is the one required for the S3 before they made it even more confusing by bringing out the latter VW504.00 which encompasses a few of the old grades together.

either the old VW503.01 or New VW504.00 will be fine for an S3 on AVS.
