Showboat Posted May 15, 2006 Report Share Posted May 15, 2006 T reg Golf 1.9TDI oil warning light comes on then car loses power and cuts out! No oil leak visible. Rustynuts Posted May 15, 2006 Report Share Posted May 15, 2006 I suspect the oil light is coming on because the engine has stopped, rather than the light coming on then the engine stopping. I also suspect a relay 109 faulty, though I don't know for certain where it is in your car. It'll be on a relay board rather than the fuse board. Cost a few quid from the dealer, DIY replacement, and it should cure it. Change it before it fails and won't let you start up again.
