Paul
This post is to collect all the data together in one thread. What is it? A citrus-based cleaner and degreaser, Virosol has been formulated for maximum cleaning power, without being a hazardous or classified product. A blend of naturally derived citrus solvent with specialised surfactants and sodium citrate. Viro-sol is biodegreadable to EEC standards. Viro-sol's fast acting formula removes dirt, grime. Product info HERE (pdf) Safety Data Sheet HERE (pdf) what do i use it for? Its particularly good at getting rid of brake dust on alloys, amongst many other uses. Who makes it? www.cloverchemicals.com How much does it cost? Its cheap! typically £6 for 5 litres of concentrate, sometimes cheaper in bulk, with free delivery by some retailers Where can I order it? Clover chemicals the manufacturer can tell you your nearest stockist or You can order via telephone through Cannon Hygiene. (formerly ran Jantastic) This is where i get mine from, usually there is a free delivery of 5 x 5 litre containers making it cheaper than 4 x 5litres or Olympiccleaning.com sell it. Navigate to.... supplies, chemicals, car valeting chemicals. or an easily clickable straight to it.... Direct link to another vendor How do i mix it? some mix it as weak as 10 parts water, 1 part concentrate. I usually use it 4 parts water, 1 part concentrate, stronger, maybe even neat for really soiled wheels. what do i put it in? I suggest you get one of those pump up sprayer bottles from B&Q its saves trigger finger! How do i use it? Once mixed, spray it onto wheels, wheel arches etc, and by time you set your jet wash up you can jet wash it off. Some users wash the car and then finish the wheels. It will take most of the muck off with it, requiring little effort to finish them off with the quick flick of a sponge or maybe at most a brush for bits missed. Disclaimer... Information collated for tyresmokers convienience. I am not linked to or affiliated with any of the companies. Nor have i bought from them, other than Cannon Hygiene (indirectly) who used to run a website called Jantastic, thats now gone. I and many others have been using this product for many years, I have used it for 3 years on current S3, and 1 year on previous S3. MY wheels have been unaffected by it. They are still bright and shiny. (OEM Audi 9 spoke alloy wheels) I have no reason to believe if will be any different on other alloys, and i know a few professional valeters that use it on clients cars, but as these matters are out of my control its at your own risk. Please be aware it WILL strip wax off, so not recommened on car body panels unless you want to take the wax off and start again.
