kp090
Hi can someone please help me in choosing a sat nav system, its either between the pioneer AVIC-X1BT or an alpine sat nav unit. Can someone tell me which sat nav unit is better? Thank you
TDiAvant
I looked at both the Alpine and Pioneer units and I would recommend the pioneer AVIC-X1BT. I installed one of these in my 96Reg A4 and I cannot really fault the unit. The touch screen is great and the menu's are easy to navigate through. The DVD playback and screen quality is very good, the only let down for me was the iPod control could have been better.

TDiAvant
Depends on how well the unit is installed, but you are look at a good few hours work as the unit can/should be fitted to the speed sensor on the car.
RedRobin
You should allow for your installer to have the car for the day and particularly so it can be thoroughly tested after installation. Also have a chat with him (assuming a good pro car audio guy) and ask him to bypass the handbrake limitation which stops you SatNavving while on the go.
