bub
Hi folks, New to this board but have to get a deisel car to take me up the m8 and back. looking for something with comfort and lots of mpg. The passat looks the job and the prices seam to be a bit more bearable than the golf. Whats the best mileage you guys have had and which model. v23
When you say heavy, what do you mean? If I'm doing 90+ on a long stretch I'll get around 45. Under 70 and I'll easy do over 50. 56 and I should imagine it'll be nearer 60.
Wobby
mine does less than 38mpg if i drive with a "heavy right foot", on A roads. Doubt i could go lower than 40mpg on motorways without going 100+. Mines getting a bit tired and has a front wheel out of alignment. Mileage 179k
v23
Oh yeah, should have said, mines a 6 speed 130 TDI Sport estate with 62000 on the clock
martin275
I averaged 46-47mpg from my 2000 TDI 115 and 44-45mpg from my 2002 TDI 130. I got over 50mpg on some journeys, but I don't hang around so that was fairly rare! I'm currently getting about 43mpg from my 2006 2.0TDI, but I expect that to improve as it's only done 3,000 miles. I've never seen less than 40mpg from a Passat TDI, which is brilliant.
Androo
Well mine's a manual saloon 2000 (W) reg (so pre-facelift) B5 115 pd TDI that has covered 110k miles and based on my "three-tanks/miles driven" calculations (not based on the slightly inaccurate onboard MPG-ometer) I regularly acheive 52.5 mpg - I test this pretty regularly as an extra indication of the general health of the engine. topgazza
I used to get the same from my 2000 115bhp Sport Estate. "Only" getting 45 average from my 2005 103 bhp 1.9TDi B5.5. But its only done 4000 miles and I'm doing very little motorway, mainly country road driving so I guess thats pretty good
