turboman786
Those of you getting higher (ie 25mpg+), do you tend to drive 'off turbo' most of the time... My s3 (2000) seems quite thirsty, only getting about 23 mpg but Ive only had it a week and have enjoyed seeing what its got.....Im hoping to get 30mpg driving it steady, not using the turbo too much... How much do you get to a tank?
sidicks
From recollection, driven moderately sensibly 30mpg is achievable and up to 35mpg on a decent run. Around town 25-30mpg is more normal, and 20-25mg if you flog it all the time !! Still pretty good given the performance available! Sidicks
graemep
Usually get about 28-29mpg, although that dipped seriously for a while after it was remapped - my fault not the car's. Best I ever managed was 38mpg on a run from Manchester to Cardiff - just felt like a easy drive and the cameras on the M6 at the time meant a fairly long time spent on cruise. fjfr
If you drive at 55 on the motorway you can get 50mpg +. I had an average London - Glasgow of 53mpg once. Last time I drove to kent av speed 67mph, I got 35 mpg. When I last drove to Perth from Glasgow, I got an average Mpg of 13... I won't tell you the Av speed.... My 21.2 av is on my last tank of fuel, and I live in the city & rag it when I'm not there, so its understandable. You could get high Mpg figures if you want to be careful, but then you might as well buy a boring car.
s3geezer
I can blag 440 miles from a tank if I drive carefully the whole time. This is on motorway 80% of the fuel tank and not going above 70. I can also have a little bit of fun with it on the ring road with this too but not too much.
