Avus_Bub
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I'm not sure I need Rain-X cos the GTI screen is already OEM sealed [/ QUOTE ] hmm, I'm not sure I follow you here Red! [/ QUOTE ] Me too...... Unless Red means the magic fairy dust that VW sprinkle onto the windscreens of every 100th GTi that rolls off the production line! Red, do yourself a favour and treat the windscreen with some Rain-X. It’s great stuff and you will be able to shift dried on bugs with little more than a sweaty sock and some spit BUB

[/ QUOTE ] I think they do something similar called a ‘microfibre’ and charge you about a tenner for two........ You can do your own saliva
RedRobin
Obviously I was wrong but I thought the screens were factory coated/sealed. I've got a pack of three Meg's Microfibre cloths and so all I need to do is get the right Rain-X....I'm confusing the glass cleaner (white cream) with the rain repellant (clear). winrya
All i use is the rear of the lambwool (Meguiars) washmit which has a kind of mesh for removing flies. Brilliant stuff, just give the whole windscreen a good run and they are all gone
