TonyB
There's probably already been a post on here about this, but having come back from 2 weeks leave, I'm buggered if I'm gonna look through all of those posts as well ... Just before I went away (and in the couple of days I've been back), I've noticed a rattle from both driver & passenger windows when the hood is up. It's not from the rear windows, just the larger front ones. I can get rid of this by dropping the windows a tiny amount (so they don't actually touch the hood, I guess) but I'm after a better solution. Is it as simple as smearing something somewhere? If so, what do I need & where can I get it? Understand the weather has been great over here during the last 2 weeks - and I trust everyone has been taking advantage? Hants_Cruiser_UK
I tend to spray a little interior trim spray in the window channels in the hood. Simple drop all the windows and spray in the groove all the way along. The only thing is that it smears about a cm on the top edge of the windows, but its a small price to pay for peace and quiet Audi seem to use a more gooey substance though, which is really messy My method seems to last quite a while too
Ari
Yup, as HC says it's almost certainly the channel where the side windows meet the roof. A bit of lube always helps (steady!!) but if you don't want to do this then just cleaning this area and the tops of the wondows carefully helps greatly.
