Guest slittley
I have the 2.0T A3. When I turn off the ignition after having driven the car, I often hear a whirring noise which gradually slows down then stops. Is this the turbocharger? I have read that after stopping you should keep the engine running for a little while to maintain oil circulation in the turbo until it stops rotating. Also, after turning off the ignition, there is a buzzing noise coming from the engine bay which goes on for several minutes before stopping. Anyone know what this is likely to be? Cheers Steve
Paul
I have absolutely no idea of the new 2.0T engines, but the high powered (210bhp) upward 1.8T's have an electric after run pump to circulate coolant around the turbo to help cool it. This runs on, after the car is turned off. could it be the same case in the 2.0T?
Mollox
First noise sounds like it might be the climate control system? How lon before it slows and stops?

[/ QUOTE ] It's just a matter of 2-3 seconds before the whirring noise stops.
