gazthecab
I'm sure someone out there must have changed their front shocks, and had problems with the swinging arm pinch bolts. I have to change mine and both these bolts are seized solid, already tried a few whacks with a large copper hammer............I'm guessing they are hi tensile so can they be drilled out if all else fails? I am hoping to do this tomorrow so any advice would be much appreciated.

mulkbear
The Pro's use this [ QUOTE ] The removal tool VAS 6085 serves as a means of removing the upper links out of the wheel bearing housing of the front suspension on Passat 97>, Audi A4 and Audi A6 vehicles (vehicles with steel wheel bearing housing only). Removal of the upper clamping bolt and both joint pins can be a major problem if these are heavily rusted. The removal tool VAS 6085 features a pressure application device to allow quick and safe removal of the clamping bolt on the links. The tool can be used on both the left and right hand front suspension. Use of the tool is described in the relevant workshop manual.
