AvantSE
Collected this the other day - it's only a 1600 but it accelerates like stink, God knows what the powerful ones are like. Excellent fun, draws more attention than my old Mk2 Escorts used to (and they got a lot). Had to fix the indicators as there was an intermittent fault, and the exhaust rattles a little bit, but other than that it's tremendous fun. Will post some pics when I get chance. Looks like your going to have a lot of fun.
AvantSE
LOL, the wife followed me back home and commented on my lack of indications coming off roundabouts. I think the relay was loose but managed to get it working again and seems fine now. The thing has a short wind deflector on the front rather than a proper screen and there is no wet weather gear so it is very much a sunny day car. You end up driving around with a half-grimace, half-smile on your face as you brave the wind and end up breathing through your mouth, whilst trying to stop flies going in ! It corners like it's on rails and the suspension is quite stiff but I discovered it has adjustable GAZ shocks so that may be worth messing around with. Like I say, it only has about 80bhp but probably weighs about 500kg or so = 160bhp/t which makes it a laugh to drive. 60mph feels like 100mph when your arse is 4" off the ground
AvantSE
Forgot to mention - the insurance was - wait for it - £188 fully comp from Adrian Flux. Restricted to 3,000 miles per year but I will hardly manage that I suppose!
SamD
that is fantastic! Good price too. I really fancy a 7-esque car for weekend fun. Might have to keep an eye out of eBay myself!

The guy I bought it off makes the VortX kits, most of which have motorbike engines. I will hang on to it at least until the baby arrives at the end of October, probably until the end of next summer. Only thing is, I am so tempted to start modifying it for more power
