petsy
Yesterday just finished washing and drying the car when it started to drizzle. In my haste, I started up the car to put it under cover with the front wipers off the windscreen in the service position like I've done with previous cars. You can imagine my horror when on moving forward the wipers moved down to its normal park position using the edge of the bonnet to snap wiper arms onto the windscreen. The nearside arm scraped off a litte bit of paint off the bonnet's edge so be warned.
RedRobin
Useful heads-up, petsy . How do you get the wipers out and off the screen anyway?
petsy
turn the ignition on then off leaving the key in then flick the wiper stalk downwards. the wipers should then move upwards and stay up in the so called "service mode" position. RedRobin
Cheers, petsy. It's doubtless in the handbook.
rs32
if you want to prevent this from happening, pop the bonnet as it will not let you operate the wipers without the bonnet completely closed. appreciate you wouldn't wash the car with the bonnet open, but it can sit on the catch whilst you're cleaning the windows.
