my wife is expecting and i'm wanting to get the passenger side airbag in my golf mk iv deactivated.

i've been quoted around £190 to have this done by a dealer and i was wondering if anyone new if this can be done anywhere else or if anyone has any experience of this ie if you can turn the airbag back on after or if i have to pay vw again to have this done.

my thanks in advance

I assume you don't have the key in the GloveBox to do it yourself.

VAG.com maybe an answer to this, not sure. You could check out the local, independant VW dealers / tuners who'll be able to advise if its a simple case of using VAG.com.

Or, PM Mulkbear (his TSN name) and he'll advise - he's the TSN VW guru / tech!

i got this done in the end, think it was £88.

they rearm it for free,

i get some nice warning messages in the matrix display now when i start up and got a nice "airbag deactivated" stiker on the passneger airbag cover.

we decided you cant really put a price on safety
