blix
ive just been trawling through the last fourty post looking for post on bushes.got my car back today having had the rearmost front wishbone bushes replaced and front outer cv boot plus two brand new tyres on the front.only to find when going round corners the cars is still making a creaking noise.i am convinced the creaking is coming from the rear and when you bounce the rear end up and down it does creak.i know this has probably been covered before but your opinions would be appreciated. sufu
im guessing that its the rear anti rollbar bushes, the reason i say that is that you get it when cornering, but its entirely possible its just the suspension bushes, hope this helps
blix
if it is the rear arb bushes do you have to drop the sub frame to change them

blix
i believe there are eight bushes in all on the s3 dont know if it might be more cost effective to do them all in one visit
kermitfrog
Recently had my front bushes Powerflexed at cost of just under £200. Tried to book car in last week for same treatment on rear budgeting for roughly the same ammount. Shocked to discover it would be appx £150 dearer Apparently the rear is far more labour intensive so probably worth it in the long run to get everything changed in one go
fingermouse
[ QUOTE ] if it is the rear arb bushes do you have to drop the sub frame to change them [/ QUOTE ] the rear ARB bushes do not require the sub frame dropping niether for that do the front. The rears are easyier than the fronts to do but you will need some long nosed plyers or simular to close the clamp around the new bush. quite a easy diy job tbh. blix
i take it from your post fingermouse this is a job you have tackled yourself.also specialist told me to replace them with the original type of bushes as synthetic ones make for a harder ride.
