Srcoates
The time has come for me to replace my S3 with something new! I just want to know what you guys think is a worthy successor, or a car that won't disappoint too much! I would quite like to get a few more miles per gallon (aiming for high 20s low 30s), but I would still like quattro and I would really like DSG as well! I am looking around the 16k mark... Any suggestions?! The 2.0T S-line would be top of my list if they were available, but they only came out recently didn't they? Also what is the opinion of the TDIs for ex S3 owners... Do they feel slow?! Cheers in advance
Phil84afc
Well my best mate has an "05" BMW 320d and although it has torque, my S3 wipes the floor with it. For 16k, quattro and higher mpg you should stick with your current S3, or buy a newer one!
Hopsta
Is your S3 chipped? if so then yes it will feel slow going to a sooty (I made the same change some 2 years ago). However you will get used to the lack of ooomph under the right foot and still enjoy the torque.
Srcoates
Nope... its standard spec. 210bhp... Don't know if I want to give up on that little bit of boy racer yet though!!! Ha!
paul051
Coatsey, I have a TDI a the min came out of a cooper s works (210 bhp). I have chipped the A3 and believe me its not slow now. Not as quick 0-60 but a hell of alot of torque. I was having a play with a mk 5 R32 Golf on the motorway the other day and i could keep up to 130 but after that he pulled a away. Srcoates
Does anyone know when the 2.0T DSG first arrived? Either in Sportback or S-line form? I have tried searching Autotrader, but no joy... It doesn't like people deing so specific!!!
Gren
Think they came out around Jan 2005. Not sure if the DSG was any different from the manual Quattro.
