UKLooney
you'll need to get hold of a wiring diagram of the lighting system, not sure if anyone has a service manual handy?
hotdog
The switch you'd need will have off, side, dip and auto selections. Then a photocell unit calibrated so its switches on and off at the correct lux level. The levels for on and off are different so it would need an intelligent controller to read the lux level and activate the lights. I would think that these could all be found as one complete system on the Mk5 and could possibly patched into the Mk4 wiring loom. IIRC the Mk5 also switches the headlights on if you travel over 75mph for a certain length of time. Meaning, your lights will be continuously lit Have you got your cruise sorted yet?? Hows your naughty puppy Billy?

dazr32
my little puppy is alright but harry the hamster isnt feeling too good at the moment, i am going to ask the techy when i see him if it is possible to wire it all in if i get the parts, as surely it is only a couple of wires and the hardware. UKLooney
sounds like it might be a function of the ecu, and controlled via the CAN bus. If so then it would be difficult to retrofit a mk5 system to the mk4
UKLooney
[ QUOTE ] The levels for on and off are different so it would need an intelligent controller to read the lux level and activate the lights.
