nicks3
The dealer fitted my dension icelink to RCD500 while I was away on holday and now that i am back I am trying to play the ipod in the car. Should it be a simple plug the ipod in to the cradle and all should link together, cos that doesnt happen! Just wondering if there is a simple solution before I call the dealer. rs32
do you have to press the CD button to switch between main and aux ?
lottiefox
Try and reset the ipod - sometimes it fails to talk to the Unit. Push middle and top of wheel and hold til Apple appears and then try again.
nicks3
Ive tried the reset once with no improvement but I'll try again. The ipod charges in the cradle so I'm wondering if the dealer has not grounded the headunit with the black wire......
nicks3
Tried reset again and no improvement. The RCD500 doesnt seem to know the Ipod is there. Pressing the cd button does nothing more than put the RCD500 into normal cd mode, it does not go to any aux mode........
lottiefox
Does the CD player still work? Sounds like something is not connected if you've reset the ipod and the HU isn't finding it. When my link has gone funny its always found the ipod. What does the ipod say when you plug it in on the screen?
nicks3
CD player works as normal. Ipod just says Nicks Ipod on it. I agree, it doesnt seem that the RCD500 is seeing the Ipod and this is why I wonder if they have not grounded the headunit. Perhaps I will have to take a look myself at the wiring they have done........
lottiefox
The ipod display should defo change when its plugged in - mine says Audi and the track name. Plus my CD changer is now defunct. Looks like they forgot to conect something important! Good luck - get some freebies for the inconvenience if you can't sort it out!!
