smass
Is there an easy way to reset the engine warning light on a MK4 20v GTI?? I was fitting a different air filter and it popped up, i know there is nothing wrong with the car but dont want to pay a garage £50+ for them to plug in a cable and press a reset button. Any ideas will be much appreciated
Rustynuts
You need Vag Com or suchlike to reset the fault codes stored in the ecu, but sometimes the light only shows when the fault is active and will go out when the fault is cured. How do you know there's nothing wrong with the car? It could be non related to the air filter, but you might've disturbed a vacuum pipe during the works and caused a fault situation. If you know someone local to you with Vag Com they might scan it for you for a beer or so.
Wobby
Most faults wont show on the dash light unless they are still at fault. Stick a post in the VAG COM section and try to find someone near you with a cable and some spare time.
