activa Posted August 15, 2006 Report Share Posted August 15, 2006 Just decided to clean the MAF on my Golf,now wishing I hadn't. Used flattened cotton wool bud as I was told to,got loads of dirt on it so thought that it had been worthwhile. Until I drove down the road just now and the MAF isn't working at all. Tobes49 Posted August 16, 2006 Report Share Posted August 16, 2006 Use some elctrical contact cleaner on it, Leave it to fully dry then give it another shot, To be honest if you think it needed cleaning (and never had one fitted) then I would just replace it.
