collease Posted August 17, 2006 Report Share Posted August 17, 2006 Was just interested in changing the coil packs and my spark plugs on my mk4 golf GTI 1.8T but have no idea what ones are supposed to be good. Tobes49 Posted August 17, 2006 Report Share Posted August 17, 2006 Spark plugs will give you NO extra power. They can regain lost power (eg old plugs). Spark plugs use either NGK,Bosch. Standard spec to your car (no special ones) If you have the push in coil packs, replace all 4 with standard items. Bolt in I wouldn't change unless you are suffering a misfire problem. Not looking to gain power or anything like that just that the car is starting to find it hard to start as if the plugs are on their way out so thought it a good idea to find out what best to replace with also with coil packs again was interested in finding out.
