collease
When your sitting in the many endless ques that we seem to have about at the moment are you a lane jumper? I mean on a duel carageway at roadworks do you dart from one lane to another just to try and get that one car infront. I'm not talking about driving down the outside of a single lane of stationary traffic but actually two lanes of slow moving traffic and darting from one to the there. v15ben
I used to do it to some extent, but since I began a twice daily commute on roads like these it seems like a waste of time. Unless one lane is really not moving at all and the other is flowing along, I don't usually bother changing lanes. It never makes a huge difference to your journey time
collease
Thats what i have found but there are always people lane hopping and i just dont get it as they dont actually get any further.
rs32
used to do this but don't bother now - in fact it annoys me when I see it going on. doesn't impress the kneesliders too much when people repeatedly do this either
Bounce
I don't lane hop, i just get myself where i need to be for when i need to turn off, the people who do it don't get anywhere any quicker
kite
I don't hop. Would traffic move quicker if no body lane hopped ?
SamD
I just sit where I need to be, put some music on, and relax.
collease
[ QUOTE ] I just sit where I need to be, put some music on, and relax. [/ QUOTE ] this sounds like a good idea i think i will have to bring some actual music rather than the tweenies and the smurfs go pop.
shao_khan
I just sit there as well, cant be bothered lane hopping requires to much analysis of lane speed flow conditions and stuff, far too hard, better to just sleep a while
maddenmark
No point in lane hopping, doesn't get you there any faster. Best thing to do is sit back, relax, you ain't going anywhere fast. Learn't this after 2 years commuting daily from Birmingham to London.
Golfer
It's another frustrating pass time, yes in the past I have done it, but not now, must be (common sense) old age!
