rag1873
Ive owned a 2001 golf mk4 for the past 2 years having bought it second hand from my local Arnold Clark dealer. To date all the servicing and mots have been done by arnold clark due to me taking an extended warranty on the vehicle. On wednesday i put the car into a local garage for the 1st time for its service/mot as the warranty is now up, they have reported to me that the vin number on the dashboard is different from that in the engine as this flagged up immediately during the service. The car has been thoroughly checked over by the garage and is definetely not a cut and shut. Surely arnold clark should have noticed this at some point over the past 5 years when servicing/moting it. Im now scared that should i come to sell the car it is going to be hard to explain the different engine numbers. Looking for advice on my next steps please???
