Tarmac_Terrorist
Sounds odd to me. I've heard that rolling roads can vary. If the gti was pushing out that much more bhp then surely it wouldn't be allowed to market it as 197 in it's literature. I may be mistaken but I think I can smell
petsy
there's some merit in that posting if you read this thread
Tarmac_Terrorist
All may be revealed at the AMD Rolling Road day soon. I believe there is a stock GTI on the rollers but unsure as to what age / MY it is. Also - loving that Jetta GTI on that site
edo
I would add that VW re-loaded my car, with what they called a "new software release" about 2 or 3 weeks ago. Sadly this wiped my APR remap, and for reasons of insurance, warranty and resale I have decided to leave it. I bought the car with APR on, so I cannot really cmopare old for new - it has certainly lost some edge against the APR setup, but I would say not as much as I was expecting - so interesting to see what it was putting out... petsy
was there a problem with your car as the reason they installed the "new software"?
edo
Yes - I had an engine emission light on, which was concerned with "running lean at idle".

Yahoo
I have asked my dealer to check the software version my '05 GTI ECU is running. If there is a more recent release, they will upgrade it - they do owe me a few favours, too many to go into here btw. I will keep you posted. Yahoo
Not yet! My car was booked in for this coming Tuesday (to have a wheel replaced and a rattle looked at). The dealership were going to check my ECU then, but I recieved a call today saying that the wheel will not be in on Tuesday and that I will need to rebook - I hope this will be for later on in the week.
