MOSE
A bit of a chill is always nice, but there is something about the heat that is generated in the cockpit of the Monaro that adds to the buzz of the car, I love it and have never turned on the aircon for that reason. But I do always drive with the windows down
Chav
[ QUOTE ] the 4 pot 320d is acknowledged as one of the quietest there is [/ QUOTE ] Sorry but whoever says they're the quietest must be completely deaf. I've never heard a quiet 4-pot diesel. the audi's are horrendous but the beamer ones are just as bad. "quiet" is obviously a relative term. The quietest one I've heard is probably a ford. PS.. must add - they all sound like a bag of spanners in a tumble dryer to me!
Brisel
[ QUOTE ] A short arguement IMO. Nice looks, a touch of exclusivity, goes like feck. Not a car for sitting in London traffic - the envious looks from passers by count for nowt when your left leg aches from clutch work.

It's a good deal quieter than the Audi, a car which I think even a deaf bloke would struggle to sleep in.
MOSE
[ QUOTE ] One thing that may put me off the D3 is the rather blingy 19" Alpina alloys - [/ QUOTE ] I hadn't read this thread all the way through, but one thing that would dinately put me off is the fact that it is a BMW. Twice bitten, more than twice shy........never EVER again!! I do hope you have a far better experience of ownership than we did if you decide to go with it mate
bazza_g
[ QUOTE ] They have a demo in Sytner City Canary Wharf tomorrow. Will be around anytime from 11 onwards if anyone wants a nosey. It could probably do with a bit more power, and on paper it ain't as quick as a 330d, but 300lb/ft of torque at 2000 revs sounds rather addictive, and the rarity element is a big pull for me. It also serves as a bit of a compromise I guess, i.e. something a little special that I needn't worry too much about piling the miles on (only around 20k a year, but enough to put me off the fuel bills of an S4 for example...) [/ QUOTE ] That is really nice - liking that alot To be honest also doing 20k miles a year is putting me off the fuel bills of the Boxster at the moment
