aditz
Right, now that I got your attention can anybody tell me if came across to the problem that I have described in one of my previous Posts. One or more LED decide to light up only when feel like it. I had a look at the panel myself but don't know how to troubleshoot it, the GOD DAMND THINGS ARE SOLDERED TO THE CIRCUIT BOARD!!! Does this mean that I will have to replace the whole instrument panel??! I just had the car in service and it looks like it does not appear on the diagnostics test. So any suggestions?? But please advise!! PLEASE!! It is annoying I have attached some pics. Cheers!! And Thank you!!
aditz
Oh yeah, new instrument panel at the stealer £180 to £400(WHAT???!!) I will need to give them code printed on the back of the panel itself for them to give me an accurate price. How poo is that???
Rustynuts
Just bear with me on this, will you. Pop the bonnet up, find the coolant bottle, unclip the cooland level sensor connector from the side of the bottle, have a look in both the bottle connection point and the connector on the wire. Is there any signs of pink residue or coolant in there?

aditz
yes Sir, just unscrew the bottle looked underneath, sides. Everything is dry... By the way there is no sensor on the side of the bottle. It is a 1999/2000 model. Any other suggestions?
Rustynuts
Is it a round bottle? Something like this one?
aditz
O.K. I checked the coolant sensor contact, the sensor contact that connects into the bottle(underneath the bottle), and all connectors under the bottle all dry. I've taken some pics but can't post them larger then 2000 bytes I don't know how to paste in the Post.
Rustynuts
That's ok, if there's no sign of coolant in there, then it's not what I thought. If the bottle leaks coolant out of the sensor it tracks down the wires and affects all electrical components, with the dash display being the first place it shows a problem. aditz
right, I've taken the instrument panel out (10 minutes job and not touched the Power Stering connector - *proud*) and looked at the connectors and everything seems to be fine apart from that bloody LED(s) that keeps goin' off
aditz
I have a strong suspicion that is not the instrument panel but the Light Switch, quite happy about that the panel costs £180 to £400 where the switch ..well less, a lot less. I've made the mistake and pulled the steering column out of its place and now I can't line up the wheel with the tyres it's a always a bit wonky. Any tips?? Cheers!!
