oxfordlad
On the way to work this morning as usual... Something catches my eye falling down and THUD, straight onto my bonnet. A bloody conker fell off the tree and landed square on my bonnet. The girlfriend just laughed Dropped her off and yes you guessed it, it has dented the bonnet. Not very much of a dent but its visable and I can see it. SO ANNOYED! Watch out if your in traffic under a conker tree, I expect it is punishment for all the times I soaked them in vinegar, baked and drilled holes in them. silentandy
Same happened to me yesterday except it hit the roof. Car isn't clean enough to see if it did any damage.
clown
Had a branch fall onto the roof, whilst driving around Yorkshire, but as luck would have it NO dent.
Timski
Bad luck, Oxfordlad. Well there's Lifeshine and Scotchguard - I think I'll patent Conkergard, a sheet of corregated iron that fits discreetly over the top of your bonnet to alleviate the all too common problem of falling conkers. I'll make a killing.

Tarmac_Terrorist
Rotten luck - I had exactly the same thing today only with an oak tree. Acorns are a bit lighter than conkers!! Are the bonnets double skinned..ie can they gain access to tease out the dents on the bonnet? Perhaps we should campaign to have more trees felled and bypasses built in their place. jamesR
I always carry a conker in the glove box for such an occasion. As long as you keep the string slightly longer than standard, you can usually manage to lean out of drivers window (or stand up through sun roof) to deflect the falling conker.
