Dusty
Credit where it's due. Took my Car in for a service to Vindis Audi Cambridge, asked them to carry out a bit of warranty work and asked them to look at a bit of dodgy paintwork on my rear bumper. Apart from the service being more than I would have hoped (damn those hourly rates) everything went well, and they said they had compiled a report about my paintwork and would send it to Audi UK. Yesterday I recieved a phonecall, to say they had recieved a reply and they wanted me to bring my car into their bodyshop for three days and they would sort it all out (courtesy car included), for nil cost. Incidently the courtesy car was a brand new A4 avant 2.0 TDI SLine. So thanks to John the Service Manager for being prompt and keeping me updated with regular phone calls. (BTW. Paint looked like it was starting to peel/flake on the bumper where it joined the rear quarter panel, as if it hadn't bonded)

Dusty
Just had them phone up with a courtesy "Was everything Ok with the service, were you satisfied with the work" type phonecall. Said I was, but thought their hourly rates were a bit steep.

R2D2
First time I am buying a brand new car in years and the first ever Audi - I was referred to Vindis Audi in Cambridge by a broker. I called them several times, left messages for the salesman and failed to get a response - When I finally did get through to the salesman in the late afternoon, He promised to get back to me within the hour - I never heard from him that day. When I called mid morning the following day and complained, I was told how rude and unfair I was being and the saleman was the best in the country. I was subsequently told that they didn't want my business! I have a number of questions... Am I mistaken to assume that when I am promised a response within a certain time period, I should get one? And if the Salesman fails to live up to expectations, then a simple apology should clear things up? That the person at the dealership listening to my complaint should hear me out and remedy the situation (for the sake of customer reputation and a sale)? Is this the way I am likely to be treated once I have spend £35,000 on an Audi? Are all Audi dealers this arrogant? I would welcome some comments! guyrj
Very recently, talked to sales chap in Vindis Huntingdon re 30K for an approved Audi UK used A5. Gave him spec, had already researched and knew were a few around. Never called me back. Rang to chase up. Never called me back. Lost the business. Only way. Serves them right. (actually Vindis Huntingdon not that bad usually, rip you off if you let 'em but they all do, otherwise quite helpful) Now proud owner of beautiful Phantom Black A5 3.0TDi sport 10K off list for 6700 miles, seems reasonable. SINGH
They shouldn't have told you they did not want your business, I think it all depends on the way you complained. Were you shouting or angry? I think when people call up shouting at the top of there voices they are ruining there chances of whatever mess a company has caused to sort it out. Allways best to be polite. The salesman might have a genuine reason why he couldn't get back to you.
cruiser647
The salesman might have a genuine reason why he couldn't get back to you. Like what? In which case, his colleagues should look after his punters. There is no excuse for not ringing back or even returning your calls - especially when the punter has left a load of messages already AND wants to buy a car from you. It's his business to return calls. R2D2 - has every right to complain. However, not knowing 'how' you complained, so I cannot comment on that bit. However, it's also probably best to go in and see them to buy a car (haggle)
