nwijnands
Well thank you for your spontanious welcome Don Ari! Actually, for now I'm just a cab owner-to-be. I've been lurking around here and on AudiWorld for some time now, almost ready to step in. I've got a test drive scheduled for early next saturday and after that it's a matter of trying to get a good deal. It's going to be a 1.8T, moro blue with anis yellow leather. Although I sometimes change my mind twice a day on that and probably keep doing that until I actually order one
Ari
It's a pleasure DC, nice to have you aboard. Speaking as a 1.8T Cabrio in Moro Blue driver I can only applaude your choice! I have a black interior in mine but that was mainly because budget constraints meant I had to go with cloth not leather. The Anis looks superb with Moro though, if you have a look in the gallery I think there is photos of a Moro Blue with Anis leather in there. The only thing to consider is that apparently if you use the car roof down a lot (as nature intended) then it can get dirty quickly as it is a colour that shows the dirt. What options are you going for?
Ari
Just checked, there are two Moro Blue cabrios in there (apart from mine) both with light leather but neither are Anis I don't think. Anyway, gallery is here if you want a peek Gallery link click here What colour hood are you going with?
nwijnands
Yeah I thought you might approve I saw the pictures in the gallery - I've been collection images of cabs for months. Actually I picked my interior color first and an exterior color to match. I too am on a budget, so brilliant black is still an option. And I haven't made up my mind about the other options as well (audio etc). Anyway, how does the hood get dirtier when it's folded up? You'd think the protection from birds, trees and other falling substances would keep it cleaner?
Ari
Sorry, I mean't that if you use the car with the hood down a lot, the Anis (or other light colour interior) gets dirty quickly compared to say a black interior (which doesn't show the dirt). Ari
Regarding options on a budget... I'd sooner have metallic than leather, metallic really finishes the car off (only exception for me would be the red, which is non metallic but looks good). Other essentials are: Heated seats (for year round drop top motoring) Wind deflector (see above) Bose (sounds fabulous!) I had all the above and the only thing I regret and is definitely a must have is the sport pack for two reasons. Firstly the sport seats are just fantastic. The standard seats don't have anything like the range of adjustment. Secondly in my opinion the standard suspension is under damped, even if you're not pressing on. The sports suspension feels so much better. Also with the sport pack you get 17 inch wheels. The 16's (which I have) look ok, but the 17's do look lovely. Be warned however the 17's are very susceptable to kerb damage.
nwijnands
Heated sports seats are indeed a minimum, as is a wind deflector. I'm not sure about the Bose yet, mainly because of the overall price of the Audi audio components. 840 euros for a plain radio/cassette unit is very pricey, and then you still need a 660 euro CD changer. Then another 1000 for Bose... It's on the wishlist, but so are 18" RS4 (replica) wheels. And yes, I know about the kerbing issues but they really look good. Any news about Claudia yet? Ari
Different spec's over there I guess, Concert radio/CD standard in the UK, so just the Bose upgrade to pay for (and CD interchanger if you want it, I didn't bother). If you like your music though, Bose the way to go I promise. 18 inch RSTT alloys do indeed look superb, the 3.0 Sport I borrowed had them. Very expensive though (sooner have sport pack with 17's and Bose! ) Claudia a bit of a sore subject I'm afraid. Should have been back with me last week, but the hood failed yet again on the final test run. Don't want to say too much more other than I still have the A6 3.0 quattro they leant me, and "discussions" are in progress with the dealer... nwijnands
Hi! Yes I've seen them. Your pictures actually pushed me from black to moro... Is that the standard "piano black" inlay you've got?
Ari
I went for Moro after seeing a TT in that colour in the showroom. Awesome colour! Forgot to mention the other cabrio "must have", accoustic parking!

NYCab
Hello Ari and DutchCab! I thought that I would put in my 2 cents. First, I do have the Sports Package with 17" wheels. They look fabulous, but the ride is noticeably harsh on broken pavement. We have some of the worst road surfaces in the World, here in New York. But, on smooth motorways at high speeds, the sport suspension makes the car feel very well planted and confident. Regarding the Bose option, I agree with Ari. The soundstage is fantastic! I have had the car for 2 months, but still, I am impressed by the strong, crisp midranges, every time (in the States, our cars get the "Symphony" 6-disc in-dash headunit with the Bose system). Get it if you can. I also have the Moro Blue exterior. Great color when it's clean and shiny. It's matched beautifully with the tan leather interior and tan top, but Ari is correct -- the rear seat backs do get dirty, quickly, if you do a lot of top-down motoring. Fortunately, with the leather seats, it's very easy to clean with a damp cloth, so no problems here. Personally, I love the tan colored top -- it's a darker shade than the tan leather interior and bridges the light interior and dark exterior, beautifully. I hope that my own opinions can help you in your decisions. Enjoy! NYCab
Ari
Welcome NYCab! I feel the Cabrio mafioso getting stronger by the day...! Another Moro Blue too, clearly the choice of the discerning cabrioso! Any photos of your car NY?
NYCab
Thanks, Ari. Very happy to be a part of the Cabrioso. I do have photo and will post as soon as I figure how to. NYCab

NYCab
Yes, the Cab is sharp in Moro Blue. Ari, what repairs are they making on your Cab? The A6 is a very nice car, but I would be steaming if I couldn't enjoy the last days of Summer with the top down.
Ari
Been having problems with the hood, plus a few other more minor things. Now they're talking about replacing the entire hood mechanism, which I'm not happy about given the car is only 7 months old...
chghs001
No dutch!!! The inlay is a Birch Wood!!! Looks better than the Black piano. Adds a bit of character. Dont forget to add heated seats and reverse paking sensors. You wont really need a wind deflector as they are costly from the dealer. After market ones can cost upto 160 pounds only. nickauctioneer
Hi - I am also an A4 cab owner-to-be but I've taken that step and ordered a 1.8T in Astra Grey with light grey leather and sport pack....but beware...I ordered the car on the 10th of July...it is being made in week 42 - "but Mr Dealer, that sounds very late in the year!" and I'll be tossed the keys in late October. A nice soft top ready for the winter. I suspect that because I knocked5-6% off the price by hard haggling they have sold my order to someone paying more. My sheepskin coated car dealer mates say that this is not uncommon. Good luck mate. N t A
