You will find that it might go up even more. After my first service at first it was say 7500 miles, it went up a fair bit after a few hundred miles after the first reading.

As for changing it early I really wouldn't bother. The reason it was done in the past was all the things that used to still live in the engine and the tolerances were so bad that you would get lots of early wear that would then still sit in the oil. Modern engines are built to such fine tolerances there isn't the need anymore especially with modern engine oils.

If anything its better to leave it to allow the engine to bed in nicely... things have moved on considerably since the services every 6000 miles. 169144-ok.gif

The qS changed its mind about 25 million times until I'd done about 2000 miles. Then it settled on about 17K and thats when it got done. No problems with it and I don't exactly drive her gently..... tongue.gif But I do always check oil, water etc etc regularly. 169144-ok.gif

to be honest, i would set mine up on time and distance servicing...

As in not long life ? I would agree to be honest as this is a bit of an Audi gimmick to get more fleet sales and as this is my car I want it serviced when it really needs it. I am pleased the service is showing about 10,000 though as this is what it would be on non long life anyway 169144-ok.gif

it does pull in additional revenue for the servicing department...but i like the idea of my car getting looked after, at 10k intervals.

long life is brilliant, but anything like an S, or RS...i would get serviced at 10k....just my view thats all..

You can ask the dealer to put your car on fixed (10k or one year) service intervals if that's what you want. Since they don't need to use oil to the same spec it can work out cheaper.
