a3malawimatt
Hi All, Picked up my new sportback 2.0 tdi 170 yesterday and am chuffed to bits with it. coupld of questions: 1) want to chip it, looking at this company http://www.chiptuninguk.com/chiptuning/frames.asp?gclid=CK-2_bPdoIkCFR4FEAodrg5FPg the car is s tronic and am concerned it may muck it up in some way!!? 2) Also will it damage the engine in any way at such an early stage in its life? and lastly will it completely void my warranty? allroadman
Can only answer with reference to warranty; You are likely to void the warranty as regards anything that could be linked to the fact that you have had a modification.i.e engine or fuel system warranty is likely to be affected depending on what went wrong and why. Dealers tend to be a little bit careful and take the offical line on this, as otherwise they end up doing the work only to find Audi will not pay for the work. lottiefox
I would run it for a while at stock before remapping. Just let the engine loosen a bit and make sure no major problems occur that you could end up having to pay for as Audi will try and blame your remap when they would/could have happened anyway. I put 20K on the TT before remapping through APS and it honestly runs so well now it is amazing - it didn't need a remap per se but the whole driveability has changed beyond recognition.
