Mattchaps
Seems a little high to me. the 150bhp has too much power for the traction control, flooring it will cause the wheels to spin even in the dry! Get a 130, still plenty of guts and you'll save about £1.5k Make sure its got full service history HTH
PinkPrincess
<font color="deeppink"> thats why i want it lol.. mind you saying that i spin our 1.7tdi astra every time lol... 130 bhp is adequate tho 8000 is till high i have seen one for 6 down here

Rustynuts
[ QUOTE ] the 150bhp has too much power for the traction control, flooring it will cause the wheels to spin even in the dry! [/ QUOTE ] The torque from the 150 tdi is 236lb/ft whereas the 130 tdi has 228lb/ft. 20bhp difference agreed, but not a marked increase in torque, and it's the torque which is going to spin the wheels. Having said that, I'd opt for the 130 aswell. I'd rather not have the problems which seem to follow the 150 about, eh Kate?

Aren't all GTIs petrol ?? [/ QUOTE ] A lot of the 150 brake diesel versions were the same spec as,and badged as a GTI! The 150 does not have trouble putting the power down in the dry.The wheels will only spin when you slam it from first to second under full throttle, but then how many front drive cars won't when running 230+ lb/ft.And tbh even in the wet they really aren't that bad. Sort of agree with Rusty on the reliability front, having replaced a flywheel, turbo pipes and a few other bits in 14 months of ownership. Then when you consider in that same time I've covered nearly 46k and don't exactly feather- throttle it everywhere,is it really that bad? One thing's for sure,50+ mpg and performance to leave a lot of cars for dead means that it still brings a smile to your face!

[/ QUOTE ] Indeed mine was a money pit! now its gone off to auction riddled with problems i only put about 20k on it, and it must of cost somewhere around 3k to keep it on the road for a year, but the car was alot of fun to drive

Snoopy
The 130 does seem less peaky than the 150 its the reason we went for the 130, We are running a Leon TDI130SE as a second car at the moment as a stop gap and its been in the family a year and a half now before been passed over to me, replacing a previous TDI110 leon that covered over 80K fault free miles with us, the Leon is a far better car than the Mk4 golf in my opinion it even seems quieter and more refined than many mk4 GT TDIs ive driven as well handle better. Redrobin Some were badged GTTDI some were badged GTITDI for some reason i have even seen GTITD badged ones from new coming out of the dealers.
