allawee
I have a 52 reg passat with a normal cassette player and 6 cd changer. I wanted to install a cd/MP3 player instead of the cassete player. Any recommendation please for a make and model that is compatiable with my cd changer? Thanks very much
pritesh
That all depends on how much your willing to spend? also if your fitting a head unit that allows MP3s why would you need the OE CD changer?
allawee
Thanks for the reply. It is not essential, but I thought if it is there might as well leave it in its place. I saw an OEM Mp3 player for a VW T5 Transporter 56 reg on ebay. Do you know if this will fit in my 52 reg passat?! cheers
pritesh
Not sure to be honest, if its the standard single din size unit then yes it should fit fine. what I have done is to remove the OEM tape unit and replace it with a Kenwood CD/MP3 single shot plater mind you I have an iPod connector on mine so I never really need a changer even though I have left my oem one in place it doesnt opperate. Units are dirt cheap now with CD/mp3 players going for 120-140 quid.
Durrsaku
I have replaced it with a Sony CD/MP3 unit. It worked very well as the buttons are red when lid and the display is blue which goes very well with the Passat display. Mine is an 02 too.
