wantmygti
Has anyone out there had any good or bad experiences with stone chip protection film? I'm looking at putting it on the fron of my soon to arrive Golf GTi, but it's a fairly hefty outlay so would like to know what it looks like fitted and whether it actually works? Thanks

fresco1
I'm suffering from stone chips of late, driving me mad sorting them out. Does anyone know if LeBra or the CarBra can be obtained in Red, as despite it's fairly clunky appearance I could live with it on longer journeys if it wasn't as conspicuous as black on red bodywork? Whenever I see a bra on a Honda I always think I'm in the States ... !
Shadowman
When I've been on holidays to the States I've seen loads of cars with bras on. I always wondered what in the hell they were and what they were for! Now I know - thanks guys!
David Wilson
I use 3m film on a few areas of the car that are susceptible to chips, namely the leading edges of the rear arches, especially the area low down on the sill. I also have the Audi rear bumper protection film on as this is great at stopping minor scuffs when loading shopping, dogs etc. So far experiences have been very good, though I have never gone to th extent of putting it across the front of the bonnet or on the front bumper regards
fresco1
I recall once seeing a DIY protection film in Halfrauds which sounds like a guaranteed motoring disaster if you've never applied such a product before (which I haven't). It involved cutting sheets to make the profile of your front end, then using adhesive to secure it in place Personally, I could see myself totally messing something like that up!
