AZURES3
[ QUOTE ] Just remember its just a car and it will probably be something or nothing! Dare I suggest you unplug the connector on the MAF sensor and see if the problems go away? This is a quick easy test. [/ QUOTE ] Good idea wonder why he didn't do that yesterday. I guess as it was showing multiple faults with the fuel system he didnt bother. AZ

AZURES3
[ QUOTE ] no problem. did he give you a list of the error codes? [/ QUOTE ] It came up with loads of fuel issues and he said it was the first time he has seen so many random ones, hence he thought it could be the ECU but until the dealer changes the reported parts 1 by 1 it would be wrong to say. I am scared to be corrected with incorrect terms so as it curry night tonight. Lamb buna sensor (AKA Lambda Sensor both of them) ?? MAF Chutney filler (AKA MAF) ?? Kingfisher dispensor (Fuel regulator) ?? Sorry trying to cheer myself up with the thought of a boys night out and a curry, gutted about this to be honest AZ
sitas3
LOL it was probably running as hot as a curry also with that lot! From what I've seen in the past, you can sometimes get lots of error codes even though only one sensor etc has failed because there is a large reliance on some things and its like a chain reaction triggering alsorts. When my S4 turbo blew you should have seen the errors logged!

Kingfisher dispensor (Fuel regulator) ?? [/ QUOTE ] Top Man !!! [/ QUOTE ] Just back from dropping off the alcoholic S3, would you fecking believe it. I left work to take it in stopped to put some more fuel in and then when I restarted it the light went out Talk about strange and why do things like that always happen The service guy asked if I was using the right fuel, guess he had to ask but I ensured him I only use Super or Shell Vpower, cheeky fecker I asked if this could be caused by a sub standard of fuel and he said its possible but unlikely but they will get to the bottom of it. I filled up with Total Excellium of whatever its called 15 miles before the issue started, I was down to 10 miles range in the DIS so had to stop. I dont usually use Total garages. They gave me an Audi A4 Avant 2.0T non S-Line or Quattro in powder puff blue Well a sort of silver blue colour anyway Talk about Tikka Deer (AKA Torgue Steer) on the A4 avant with the 2.0T in the Avant. The ESP light was like a Xmas tree on the way back to work, I think I could only go from Quattro to RWD never back to FWD. The last time I drove a car with this engine in the A3 it seemed fast but like anything once you have driven faster it seems slower, mad but true. So much better than the old 1.8T though for refinement. The wait begins for the diagnosis. They reckon it will be middle of next week I told the guy I wanted the vehicle condition check completed on my car, he was fine about it and after he checked it said he would have done the same as it was spotless. He made note of the mileage, date/time and overall condtion. AZ

Tarmac_Terrorist
IIRC the company which provided the dodgy fuel to Tescos & Morrisons also supplied to Jet & Total. I forget the name of the company...Green-something.

CarMad
Thats not good when your pride and joy is poorly. Let us know when its out of theater. Only thing that would concern me a little was if anything else had been damaged, cat etc. as a result of it not being able to burn the fuel correctly. Maybe you could ask them to do a little mini MOT otherwise you will only find the problem in 3 years time and will find it very hard to get them to sort it then. Hope its fixed quickly. AZURES3
Just called Total customer services to log the issue in case it turns out to be dodgy fuel. It seems odd that when I stopped to fill up with super unleaded at another petrol statione on the way to the Audi garage, that the light then went out. That said thought the other fuel would have been in the lines etc so shouldn't of change the light instantly. The Total customer service people were so crap and even when they admitted they were affected by the dodgy fuel depot they just wanted to send me a claim form. I kept pushing for them to check if the petrol station I used had been affected as surely they would know. He reluctantly checked and said it was not affected by the dodgy feul . He is sending me a claim form anyway. Not sure my issues would be due to the fuel but atleast I have logged the issue in the event the delaer comes back with comments on the fuel. AZURES3
Just spoken to the dealer and its not looking good They have had to log a case with Audi tecnical as they have never seen this type or level of fault before. They cant be sure until their master technician looks at it on Monday but it looks like multiple component failure in the fuel system. He said that if they could not resolve it they would call on the Audi specialists to come in, some sort of elite engineers that look at major/complex issues ? They will need the car until atleast Wednesday next week but it could be longer if the parts etc are not in the UK. Shi* does happen so they need time to fix it etc but if it seems to go on and on with multiple bits being replaced and no fix I wonder if I could reject the car? Advice on this please. If they are going to keep my S3 for a while I might request something a little more exciting than the A4 Avant. AZ
shark_90
I would definately be finding out if you are eligible to reject it. I had an MG ZS TDi as a company car and the ECU died within 18 hours of me picking it up, and it was never right once it was fixed. Unfortunately it was contract hire so I had no input as it wasn't technically my car, but if I were you AZ I'd be asking questions
S3Rob
AZ, sounds like a nightmare Hopefully they'll have it fixed soon. You probably want to wait to see what the master tech's opinion is before talking to the dealer about rejection though. Best thing I saw at Guildford the other day were 2 Allroad's. Maybe one's a demonstrator - you could probably ask for that!

AZURES3
Thanks for the support, to be honest I am sure it will get resolved. This is amost a completly new engine so I just hope it doesn't have bugs I am very pleased that I took a picture of the DIS clearly showing the date, time, mileage & fuel level when I dropped the car off. Also insisting on them doing a vehicle condition check on my car too You never know when they are in the dealers for a long time just where they go I am on a training course all next week and getting the train but if it goes on any longer than Wednesday I want something a little more fun and that fits in my garage. stevie_d
Christ mate, I thought it would be a simple problem to solve The dealer maybe just covering themselves by getting the audi techs in, so I wouldn't worry too much mate. If the car wasn't driving any differently then perhaps it's a pre-emptive error code? More of a indicator that something is going wrong, rather than a warning that something has gone wrong. If that makes sense? Anyway, hope you get her back soon
