I think you will be locked up for a 3 months atleast!!

Slightly off topic...I came across a nice lambswool alloy wheel brush in Halfords yesterday. Curiously branded as part of the Flash car cleaning stuff, but more typical of a Megs product in terms of quality. Thick pile, good size and a soft handle. £7 iirc - I had to buy one but yet to try it out smile.gif

That sounds good...better than those harsh brushes...lets know what its like tarmac 169144-ok.gif

Windfall its really nice to use!!

The two cloths are pretty decent MF's but you need to remove the tag. The wax itself smells like bubble gum. I sprayed it over Poorboys Sealant today and its gave it a much warmer look (car is silver). Most of all it think its added ALOT of wetness. They claim this is durable so it will be intreasting to see how it holds up.

It says to part dry the car, i just chased the water off with the hose and sprayed it on.

I will do the green 106 this weekend and get some snaps.

I think I may have mentioned it somewhere that Nathan used some of this on my VW when he was over giving my Cayman the once over and it really was very good.

Since then I have given that car a good clay treatment (washed twice before hand and should have seen what was dragged out!) so at the nbext wash would like to try this and compare to the results Nathan provided.

I decided to get just one for now - VW still needs more clay'ing though - can still see a bit of hologramming on some of the panels!

Cheers

I bought the new AG Aqua Wax and used it last weekend. I have to say I'm pretty impressed with the gloss it has left on my car.

The 2 included microfibres were a nice touch although I guess they are part of the price you are paying. But I needed a couple more anyway so I didn't mind!

The instructions say to spray the wax on the car and then spread with one of the microfibres. Wait until hazed and then use the other microfibre to remove.

I don't think it was quite as easy to apply and remove as the Megs NXT Spray Wax I've used before but that may be because it was my 1st effort with it. Normally I find you get used to the knack of certain products over several uses.

As I say, it has left a nice glossy finish and seems to have also masked some minor swirls which is great.

One word of warning - I would advise it is kept well out of reach of young kids as it smells really sickly sweet. Couldn't quite put my finger on it - cinnamon? Anyway, I reckon it's going to smell pretty drinkable to a small child... EEK2.GIF

They also say you can use it on glass (although not the windscreen) and plastic trims. I used it on the side windows and it seemed fine.

Anyway, just thought I'd relay my experiences!

No, I couldn't find it in any Halfords either. It was my birthday last week and I treated myself to a day out at Beaulieu Motor Museum. Just opened there is a supercars exhibition sponsored by AutoGlym. So in the shop there they've got some AG stuff and, as luck would have it, some Aqua Wax! I thought I'd better buy it as I wasn't sure I'd ever see it again anywhere else as Halfords don't seem bothered!

So, what is it like then?

Worth buying to get a few quick layers on top of the Wolfgang Sealanbt on my Freelander I am selling. I should I just stick a layer of Souveran on there from the outset?

I want bling to the best ability with as little work as possible as need to finish the complete detail by Sunday and only have part of Sunday left free time to do it in!?!

Was a rush post last night as was going out.

I realise you cant have the best finish possible with the least price and spray on to give awesome finish. What I need on this is something I can buy over the counter, in halfords or similar, that will compliment the work I have already done but what will give me a nice shine in order to sell the motor to its best potential.

I have done:

Wash

Pinnacle Clay

Wash

Dry

Menz 85RD Final Finish Polish

Clearkote RMG

Wolfgang Deep Gloss Sealant

The last steps for me now are to finish the Forver Black layers on the bumper plastics, then trim detail all plastics and rubbers externally and finally wax the outside.

If I could get one product that would do the wax and trim detailing and that is over the counter and relatively cheap then that would be great on this one.

The other option is to use the trim detailer I already have and whack a layer of Souveran on?

I am loathe to do this as dont want to waste the product at this time of year and on a vehicle I am getting rid of.

Would look cracking though I guess!?!

Any prompt replies on this would be great as plan to pop out from work this afternoon and get something...

Oh HI!!

Sorry im a bit late, i have been busy so if you havent finished then maybe my thoughts are still helpful. You could leave it at Wolfgang, it will easily last 6 weeks and looks good. This is an OK time of the yr to use PS, it isnt too hot and it isnt too cold or salty!!

If your selling it i guess you could keep it top up with AG Aqua wax but it might reduce the good looks of Wolfgang.

Cheers Geoff!

Always a good source of information fella!

I thought that might be the case. I want that little bit extra from the finish to really show it off considering the weather is so nice. I am going to finish it tomorrow, all going well, and think I will top with Souveran after all!

It will use a tiny amount in the grand scheme of things and a shame to have put so much work in and stop there!

Ok, so all done and finally decided to go for it with the Souveran and boy does it look awesome! Did not have time to take pics as the missus was already about to go ballistic for yet another 3 hours spent washing, waxing and detailing the trim. I think I finally have it licked, with one or two small bits to clean inside where there are grubby marks, like around the sunroof from the last guy. Easy done with APC and forgot to do it when I did the inside as did not look up!

Anyway cheers for the advice and now its time to sell it!

Cheers Geoff, and that I certainly will!

Going on Fleabay sometime soon but just trying to decide which day to stick it on to maximise the Bank Holiday this coming weekend? Will everyone be out on Monday evening and miss the end or will they all be just arriving home!?! Probably safer to whack on there on Tuesday evening maybe so that they can come and view on the Bank Holiday?

I have already bought the replacement. It's a 95 Golf 1.8 Driver in Mk3 form. It is a one previous to me owner car with a silly FSH. It has all receipts down to number plate light screw caps and been serviced, with oil change, at 6 months and 3k miles for the first 3 years and then slipped to 12 months with only 6k miles from then on!

Nice Flash Red and almost mint. There are swirls on there to play with though, and one or two touch ups to take care of which adds to the fun.

Basically its a 2nd car so wanted to save on running costs, slightly, and release the difference in cash to get the Patio sorted ready for when our little chap is up on his feet! A little way away from that, at only 7 months old, but if I dont do it now I will never get it done!

I love Golf's though, ever since my Mk1 1.8 GTi which rocked but was a little go kart like at the best of times!
