Gamma Radio in Beetle

I wasn't sure whether this belongs in the Beetle forum or the Tech forum, but here's the problem:

I have a gamma radio in a new style Beetle and a strange thing happened. One day when I tried to change a station, it wouldn't work. I found that in fact none of the buttons work. Absolutely nothing happens when I press every button. The only thing that works is the volume knob. I turn the car on and the radio works fine on the station it was already on, even still displaying the name/frequency of it, but when it comes to trying to change it, it doesn't let me. It doesn't say "Safe" as the manual says if it is electronically locked, even if it did, none of the buttons work so I wouldn't be able to type any code.

Has anyone come across this problem before or does anyone know how to solve it?

Thanks.

I am not aware of a reset button on VW stereos, so I would try disconnecting the power (remove the plug at the back) & then reconnecting & entering the code incase it is locked up & needs a "reset" before buying a new one.
