dbr32
I've recently had my 03 plate R32 MOT'd. When i went to collect the car, I was pleased to hear it had sailed through the test. However, i became concerned when i found the car had used about a 1/4 tank of fuel, and had been taken on a 10 mile test drive following the test!!!!!! After driving the car for about a mile, the engine management light came on, as did the light to indicate ESP was switched off. The lights went out after a couple of minutes, and have not reappeared since. Anyone come across this scenario before (the lights - not the idiots at the test centre that is!!!)?!?!?! Thanks for reading......
robin09
Yep my ESP light has come on twice in 3 years for no apparent reason, but then gone out when the engine is switched off and haven't returned. It could be a coincidence it happened after your MOT, but on the other hand....
Maxyboy
This happened to me and i think it was the steering angle sensor or something similar, i cant remember exactly. T'was covered by waranty anyway.

petsy
could it be that they test your brakes one axle at a time and the sensors then code that as a fault as all four wheels are not rotating at the same rate?
Tumbletop
The ABS light certainly comes on on a rolling road when the Haldex has had its fuse pulled to disengage it. It goes off after a few yards down the road.
dogbucket
Have you asked why they did a 10 mile test drive? I know they took mine up the road with a measuring gadget to do a brake test, but he was gone for like 5 minutes.

I would kick up a stink mate
dbr32
why they needed to take it on any sort of test drive following an MOT is a mystery - i think the spotty 17 year old apprentice fancied himself a bit of a joyride. I did manage to get a free service and discount of a couple of rear tyres that i need replacing sometime soon, but to be honest, those t***s have had their chance!
