  1. Thanks Mook, took it out yesterday for a test drive and was kind off expecting loads of torque steer, didn't drive it hard, but yes it could well be looney mate.
  2. Well after over 4 years of ownership, l will be saying goodbye on Sunday to my beloved R32 Mk 1V. Didn't really want to sell her, but the missus and l just needed the one car so we traded the R32 in for an Astra VXR(yes l know l will probably regret buying a Vauxhall), but we wanted something newer and within our budget, and l never liked the look of the Mk V R32. Though l havent been a regular visiter to this excellent forum, l have picked up a wealth of knowledge from you guys on here and will miss you sorely.
  3. [ QUOTE ] I have been known to download TC's (Trade copies - basically the DVD is sent out pre-release for reviewers to watch. It's DVD quality, just without the menu's, and every 30 minutes 'Property of *studio*' pops up.) I'd never pay for it though, because as is said, it goes to the wrong hands! if a film is good, I'll buy it. I used to watch more copies, but having a 42" plasma rules bad quality out as it looks awful! [/ QUOTE ] These are actually known as screeners
  4. Many thanks jimmy p and Mook. Doesn't exactly fill you with confidence in the Dealership when they dont know that the R32 has a timing chain. Thanks again guys, this forum has been a godsend.
  5. [ QUOTE ] probably a blue nose trying to get some of your hard earned kopites, tell him to do one. [/ QUOTE ]
  6. Morning fellow R owners, dealer wrote to me yesterday, said this in the letter"according to our records your VW R32 is due for a cam belt replacement" Car coming upto 4 years old now. Im not sure but l thought the R32 had a timing chain and not a cam belt, if this is the case, l dont need to have anything done do l? Is my dealer talkng
  7. Im running pilot sport 2's on the front and still the original pilot sport 1's at the rear and have had no problems

    Stolen

Sorry to hear about this mate. Personally l'd never have a tracker fitted to my car, whats the point, old bill finds car, car is returned the car is then listed as stolen recovered, the value of the car declines big time. I'd sooner the scum burnt it with them still in it the s
  10. 10 mile test drive l wouldn't of been pleased with that
  11. Like previous poster said, write to Paul Willis, lm sure his email address has been posted on here somewhere. Im sure someone will be able to help you with it mate
  12. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I'd just like to see a video of how someone goes about washing a car that is actually dirty to start with [/ QUOTE ] I think the state of the car is irrelevant mate. No matter how dirty your car is, if you follow the tips from the video (two bucket system i dont use but will now) then you will get the best finish possible. If your car is really filthy then give a good going over with the hose (not power hose as this f*cks up your paint work/alloys) then wash away. I might not agree with all the guy says on the video as my car is over two years old and in pristine condition but most of what he says makes good sense when you want your car to look good. My dad scoffs at the time i spend on cleaning the car but there is nothing better than stepping back and looking at a couple of hours hard work [/ QUOTE ] I can see your point tspar, l mean l just spent the best part of 7 hours doing my R last weekend and its looking really good(l think so anyway) By the way good to see another R owner on here
  13. [ QUOTE ] As suspected the DBP is too common probably cos every one believe they were the fastest. Once you gone black theres no going back cos they are the fastest and not too common either. Most people probably too scared to drive em he he [/ QUOTE ] DBP looks better as commented by not just the owners of R32's
  14. I'd just like to see a video of how someone goes about washing a car that is actually dirty to start with
  15. Good video, but like all these car wash videos, car isnt exactly dirty is it. Perhaps a video should be made of someone who lives in the countryside during the bleak winter months when car is filthy.
  16. [ QUOTE ] I use raw egg whites and a paint brush. Works better than anything off the shelf. [/ QUOTE ] Your just tight only joking
  17. Sorry to here about your misfortune mate. Speaking to my local dealer only the other week about when the cam belt should be changed and he said " after 4 years or 40,000 miles" l then mentioned that my car will be 4 years old in november but wont of done that amount of miles then, his response was " if its not done either at these intervals then VW will wash their hands of the whole affair" Whether this is correct l dont know but l think come november l will get mine replaced just to be on the safe side.
  18. Would never expect a dealer to offer me that amount anyway, not that l want to trade the R in...........not yet.

  20. Admiral for the last two years, was with Norwich Union before then. NU then wanted a lot more money on my renewal even though my circumstances hadn't changed plus most of their work is moved out to India, all those poor sods loosing jobs in this country.
  21. the R has done just over 18,000 miles lm based near Norwich
  22. Need to replace the front two on my R. At the moment l have pilot sport 1 on all four corners, cant find a stockist who has these any more(discontinued)? would it be okay. ie safe to fit the pilot sport 2's on the front and leave the Pilot sport 1's on the rear as the rears still have 5mm
  23. I had the very same problem. What it was is the exhaust valve needed replacing, noth.ing major and was a warranty job
