It's free for 30 days trial (full functional) then free without auto update for ever after and is a good backup for AVG antivirus. It picks Trojans up that slip past other stuff. Run all four programms and 9/10 times they do remove all the bugs. Also try Tune Up Utilities 2007, for good house keeping, having run them. Mac Posted June 5, 2007 Report Share Posted June 5, 2007 If you've got the skills by far the most reliable way is to boot from a OS CD and install ANOTHER OS to another partition and then run the anti-spyware from the second OS. The first thing I normally do with a new PC or laptop is hive off a second OS on an 8Gb partition. It's worked very well for data recovery for me for years. I have never used it for the purpose Mac suggests but as nothing will be file locked the scanner has access to everything and can clean. Jon. The amount of times it's rescued me is beyond belief All for a little bit of work upfront. Also, as a side note, you can use the SECOND OS to backup the initial one too as well. It makes restores easy as you're restoring from the secondary OS rather than from the primary. Restoring from the primary is like trying to get the carpet up while you're standing on it - mostly works but just makes it harder. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
