lwj983 Posted June 9, 2007 Report Share Posted June 9, 2007 Posted in the tech thread but not many people on there, anyone know if it has an 'in line fuse'? : Hardly a major problem but any help/ideas would be appreciated. The cigarette lighter socket in the front of my Mk4 Golf has stopped working, checked the fuse in the fuse box in the dash board (by drivers door) which is fine. I need it working for sat nav so currently using an extension through the car from the boot socket. If its totally blown and needs replacing how much do your reckon a stealer will charge? I think it must have stopped working when I had a flat battery (left lights on.....opps) and tried to use one of those cigarette lighter jump lead things..........which didn't work, must have b*ggered it up some how. jedster0 Posted June 9, 2007 Report Share Posted June 9, 2007 If fuse F35 in the fuse box is ok then it could be dity contacts in the lighter itself (dont try and clean it with the fuse in place). I've bought an extension cable to run from the boot socket to the front has a temporary fix, only £5 from Maplin....bargain. I'm preety certain the actual socket has died.
