collease
friend of mine is thinking about bying a CAT D right off. He has 2 queestions which i cant answer. So i was wondering if the collective that is TSN could swing into action and give me some help. 1. Will buying a CAT D write off affect his insurance premium at all? will the insurance companies be looking at this as a higher risk or would they just not be interested. 2. Would he have to inform any prospective buyers in the future when he came to seel in the future ? Thanks in advance
DaddyDub
1. It shouldn't but will affect any future sale price. 2. No but it would be imoral not to.

EssFour
I think it is illegal to knowingly sell on a Cat D without informing the buyer.
fizzbitt
[ QUOTE ] I think it is illegal to knowingly sell on a Cat D without informing the buyer. [/ QUOTE ] Bby law a garage has to tell you if the car is in the cat list. As a private seller you dont. Its the persons who is buying it resposability to check if its a salvage car. quote from a mate..
edo
[ QUOTE ] quote from a mate.. [/ QUOTE ] Must be true then! Seriously, a trade company MUST tell you. Most people check these things now using HPI or similar. So if your mate is thinking he might get away with selling it on without saying he is living in cloud cuckoo land. Chances are he will get found out, and if he sells to the wrong person they wont take kindly to it..

timps
[ QUOTE ] Are most insurance companies ok with insuring CAT D write offs then ? [/ QUOTE ] You must tell them that it’s a cat D before hand.(Seems they don’t check for you) Speaking from experience if you don’t they will try and wriggle out of paying up when you make a claim even if you did not know it was a cat D and bought from a trader.
