RedRobin
I had my second service 2 days ago and just how excellent is my VW dealer. He told me exactly what update was loaded onto my ECU - 24K6 which reduces fault codes which aren't existing. He knows about my switchable Revo and it's not a problem (possibly until there's an issue!). He spotted a displaced cable protector in my boot lid and has ordered a new part. He fitted new wiper blades although the existing seemed ok to me. He spotted that my heater control button is losing its paint through wear and has ordered a new one. The whole interface unit has to be replaced because he can't order just the button dial - Costs £184 !! He installed my new ITG Air Filter. The mechanic only took my car out for 3 miles afterwards to final check it. I'm running back on stock map now until I visit JKM/Revo which I'll dovetail with fitting the Forge DV when it's available. Oh, he also informed me of DSG oil & filter change at 40,000 miles and asked VW UK if he could do it now at 33,000 but they said not until 40,000. I had a free hire car for the day if I wanted it. They serviced my car first of the day and I had her back by lunchtime. They would have collected my car from my home and returned it afterwards if I wanted. All costs me nothing except my standard VW maintenance contract which includes free tyres. Now, that's what I call good service! fresco1
Nice to see 'name and fame' instead of 'name and shame' ... ! Well done Loders.
RedRobin
They've always been good to me and I've always been nice to them, so it's a win-win . I'll be giving them high marks when I recieve the usual phone survey from VW.
TheReflex
You wanna prey you don't have any engine issues if they know you've re-mapped the ecu . A total warranty invalidator if ever there was one.
RedRobin
....I've got a lot of confidence in Revo and I'm only using Stage1 so I'm not exactly pushing the car's built-in headroom to its limits. Especially as my hardware mods will help. Forge DV and SAMCO silicone turbo hoses going in soon. An issue has to proved to be the direct cause in order to trash the warranty but I don't mind taking the financial risk anyway. Running on stock ECU at the moment and realising how subtle Revo Stage1 is - It simply releases the power earlier and holds it longer. People forget that you don't drive a remapped car at its limits all the time. I'd rather have it and not need it, than need it and not have it - Especially when overtaking. Bedtime ....Up early for GTI International tomorrow .

Jack_is_Back
[ QUOTE ] Now, that's what I call good service! Loders VW of Dorchester [/ QUOTE ] 10 years ago when I had a Mk2 GTI I broke down just around the corner from that VW garage whilst visiting some friends who lived in Sydling St Nicholas. Part of the gear linkage had broken - they had the part in stock and fitted it straight away. Big relief. Not sure if it was Loders back then but a big anyway. RedRobin
They've been going for many years but, I too, don't know what their previous names have been but I think it started as a family biz.
RedRobin
My dealer VW Loders replaced the rubbed off paint on my air-con control button today by fitting the latest spec Dual controls under warranty....The whole unit just because of some rubbed off paint! Needless to say that when VW's independent survey chap phoned to ask how satisfied I was with the dealer's work last week, I enthusiastically gave 5 out 5 max points for every question! And I named the Service Manager as being especially helpful. I had a good chat with the dealer's mechanic who worked on my car today - He had seen my car on show at the GTI Inters and he is working on his own 400 bhp Audi S2 !! It feels good to have such enthusiasts working on your car. He also told me that if I maintained the car regularly then 200,000 miles was absolutely no problem for this engine.
