Integra DC5 Import or buy in UK?

Hello everyone I am wanting to buy the Integra DC5 model but unsure about going to Japan myself and importing it as opposed to buying here from the UK. People informed me that it doesn't actually cost a great bundle to bring a car from abroad, in fact it costs just over £1000 and you could purchase a brand new Integra from a Honda Garage in Japan for the cost of a 04 or 05 plate here in the UK.

I was wondering whether anyone has done this and what there experience was of importing a car abroad. I have a few sites in mind for buying a DC5 here in the UK such as:

Get yourself over to www.itr-dc5.com if you haven't already and have a search around. Does that £1000 you quote include the SVA test, registration and conversions required for driving on British roads (speedo conversion, fog light etc.) or just the shipping cost? as been said, the forums are the bast source of info. Andy at 200bhpcars is a popular chap on the DC5 forum and has some cracking deals too! Id have one on my drive if only I could get insured!

Andy at 200bhp is a decent bloke, but so is Mike at Torque GT.

I wouldn't import one yourself, I think you would find the Japanese auction system overwhelming.
