My dad had some tasty but genuine BMW wheels on his old 5 series (fitted by the dealer as part of the deal when he bought it second hand) and when he told the insurance company they said it didn't matter about them cos they were genuine BMW parts, even though they were bought after-market, and they didn't add anything on to his insurance.
