Mollox
Is there a way to "mine" (i.e. save) flash banners and ads from a website? I'd like to make a little collection... Is this possible?
SamD
There is a manual way - look at the source of the page, find the flash file referenced and enter that into your browser and save when prompted. Either that or a tool such as Flash Grabber will do it for you

Sparky
This doesn't always work on sites like YouTube as the only flash file on the page is the player, which then streams content from their servers. There is a website (can't remember it) that streams this into a file and lets you download it. Try: http://javimoya.com/blog/youtube_en.php
SamD
YouTubeX will download YouTube clips, but for ads the approach that I mentioned will probably work
Sparky
Even easier! Watch a video on how to do it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tRTk0RPXtW4
Mollox
Thanks Guys, Not Youtube - but commercial sites so its normally pure flash embedded in the pages. Will have a look for Flash Grabber
Sparky
If it's not streamed, then as Sam says, just pinch it from View Source and paste it into Flash Get, or Firefox.
