Wallachie
Awesome.....great find Sam! Never tire of that CSL sound, in fact I'm going out right now for a blast in mine before the Snow Patrol Concert!!!
NewNiceMrMe
Was that a standard CSL? It didn't look it to me. If I had bought a new M3, I'd be gutted having seen how the CSL kept so close to it on the standing start up to what, 100-ish? Then it seemed to claw get even closer. Bearing in mind that, in a straight line, there isn't a huge difference between a CSL and a standard E46 M3 - I'd be feeling rather depressed right now to be honest. Surely I'm not the only one who watched that video and thought - hmm, that new M3 didn't go as well as I expected...
Woppum
Looking at the bare figures Chris the CSL is actually closer in performance to the new M3 than the old E46. It is only 0.3 seconds slower to 100 (10.2 vs 10.5) and exactly the same to 60 - so am not surprised by the vid. The CSL wasnt stock, it had bigger brakes, a roll cage and new seats fitted. Cant comment on the suspension but it sounded like a stock zorst and certainly didn't have the supercharger - so performance should be identical. sitas3
maybe because I own one but I really think the CSL still looks better than the new E92 M3. It will be interesting to see where BMW can go with a new CSL.
NewNiceMrMe
I'd agree with that except I'd say it looks significantly better, not just better.
Woppum
Put a fair few miles on the car the last few days and Im still in love. I think the new CSL could look mean. Change the front bumper for a baguette holder. Flair the arches further, widen the track, have better wheels and possibly a rear diffuser of some sort this time.
